The 1st Annual Poker Tournament was held on November 19, 2005 in Saskatoon. Approximately 50 players participated with another 30 friends and family looking on. Thank you to all who organized this very successful tournament.

A special thank you to all of the individuals who supported the tournament as either a player or spectator. Without your support this event would not have been the success that it was. All proceeds from this event go to support The Chris Roy Memorial Scholarship established through the Saskatoon Catholic Schools Foundation. Your generosity will allow the memory of Chris to continue on through the Scholarship at Holy Cross High School.

We would also like to thank Danny Murza, Michael Duncalfe, Cindy and Terry Wruck, Rick Murza, Neal Li Pi Shan, Leo Morrison and Andy Tennent for their donations of prizes, food, etc. There were others who donated prizes and food and we apologize for missing your names. Please let us know who you are so we may add your name to the list.

Not only will the poker tournament support Chris' Scholarship, it also brought friends and family together to visit and play a game that Chris loved. Thank you for your support and friendship.

The Chris Roy Memorial Cup (above) that we have been using for all of the scholarship fundraisers was made by Chris when he was in grade 11 or 12. He made it out of 200 small pieces of wood, cut at angles, glued together and then put on a lathe. He had intended on having hockey tournaments in our backyard rink, rewarding the winning team with their names on this cup, but unfortunatly he never got the chance. We thought it was very appropriate for us to use it. He would be truly amazed by the events people have put on and the many people who have helped and supported us in these events. We thank you all very much.
